NorthPoint's BigGive

Happy Mother's Day to our moms!!! You make this world a better place. :)

I also wanted to share some wonderful stories from our church service this morning. NorthPoint chose several mother's from our church, they shared their family testimony on camera, and then we called them on stage and surprised each of them with gifts. The first mother is a widow. She is now in her 30s and her husband had a stroke only 18 months after being married. He passed away 2 years later at 24 years of age. So, she was left with their daughter who also suffered strokes in utero and struggles with cerebral palsy. Since then, throughout the years, she has opened her home to more than 30 children thru foster care & has adopted 3 children. One of which has down's syndrome, another has diabetes, and her fourth child has autism and ADHD. The church gave her a top of the line playground/swing set, trampoline, a tub lift for her daughter with CP, and a $300 Wal-mart gift card. The second mother was a married women who could not become pregnant until 10 years after trying. They had been doing foster care too and adopted 2 infants. The church gave them various things too that I can't remember. But the third mom was also single and had been renting a home and guessed the landlord wasn't making payments because they received a call that the house was being sold & she had to move herself and her 4 children out quick. So, they lived in a local "Inn" that they thought would be temporary, but it turned into 3 years...until a former boss offered his home for them to rent after he moved out. They lived there 2 weeks and the house caught fire. They do live in another home now, but do not have hardly anything in it. So, the church gave her a bedroom set with mattresses, a couch, dining room table and chairs, and 4 bikes for the kids...as well as a $300 Wal-mart gift card. It was a very emotional morning! Our church is also planning on supplying needy children (this fall) with shoes, socks, underwear, haircuts, dental checks, and BP checks for family. It's some exciting stuff ahead!!!
My mission to Haiti is fast approaching & the donations are still coming. Thank you each who have donated items. Please be in prayer for our team and the Haitians.
Better get back to studying ~ my last final is tomorrow. Chad has finals all week.
