Easter Weekend

The weather turned out beautifully for our trip to the lake. We even got a spot closest to the water with a fire pit and grill. Our table was in the shade and we had plenty of sunshine to step into. Chad spent most of his time cooking up enough meat to feed an army. He made three different kinds of hot dogs, hamburgers, sweet potatoes, and regular potatoes. Mom had made macaroni salad and coleslaw. I made an angel lush cake and an orange citrus breeze drink. For the cake, I made three small round angel food cakes and stacked them. In between each and on top was a pineapple/cool whip filling...then you add strawberries to the top too. It didn't last long...it was pretty tasty. The orange citrus breeze was vanilla pudding mix, orange juice, and cool whip. It was rich, but it was pretty good too. Needless to say, we all had plenty to eat.
Afterwards, R and A flew their Spiderman and lightning McQueen kites. Chad and Mom worked on a crossword puzzle while dad read a farming magazine, and I lounged around and took pictures...It was one of those days that you wouldn't mind it lasting for quite a while. :)
